For 30 years I have assisted couples in constructing the “best possible relationship”. I have studied various therapeutic approaches and come to clearly understand that no one wants to be “in counseling” forever, and that it’s not easy to ask for personal or relationship guidance. As a result, I am solution focused and believe that each relationship requires “custom attention” based on their unique circumstances. There is not a “one-size fits all” approach to couple counseling. It is also clear that most life and relationship problems do not occur “overnight”, but have developed overtime and as a result of many influences.
For those that have studied psychotherapeutic theories or are interested, my clinical approach is influenced by:
- H. Hendrix / H. LaKelly (Imago Relationship Therapy)
- Murray Bowen (Family systems)
- Karen Horney (Psychosocial analytic perspective)
In addition I assist couples in constructing a tangible, shared value system. This identification of mutually-held values becomes a priceless decision-making tool.
When tensions, struggles, or dissatisfaction overwhelm a relationship and feelings of hopelessness result – it is time to contact me. I am committed to assisting you in developing a satisfying and meaningful relationship.
