Psychological Screening & Interviews

It is standard practice for agencies and fertility specialists to require that all gestational carriers and gamete donors complete a psychological screening and Interview. Most clinics require a clearance letter prior to IVF treatment.

A clearance screening includes, but is not limited to:

Review of an agency application if available or completed questionnaire
Completion and Review of screening materials & psychological testing
A bio-psycho-social assessment interview (approximately 90 minutes)

A complete screening may require more than a single appointment depending on individual circumstances:

Initial meeting with the Intended parent(s)
Screening interview with the gestational carrier/and or donor (done separately)
A “match” meeting with both surrogate and intended parents meeting together
